Having a pet will bless you with the happiest days of your life, and one of the worst days

On Monday, January 20th we brought our beloved kittie to the vet because she wasn’t acting herself. She went from sleeping by my side and following me around the house all day and night—- to hiding in her brother’s room in a corner. She wasn’t eating as much and the fur hid her dramatic weight loss. By Tuesday, January 21st, she was diagnosed with Large Cell Lymphoma and given 1 month to live. Need-less-to-say, I was crushed. My dog-like-companion of a kittie was dying. For 10 years she was by my side. She is a true companion. With the help of the Brodie Fund, and for the love of our girl… we have decided to move forward with her chemo treatment. The Brodie Foundation calls it the “gift of life”. We don’t know how much time left we have with her, but we cherish every moment.

As my heart was breaking with the awful news, I picked up my cell phone for selfies with her and took beautiful photos with my professional camera. I needed to document every moment I had left. It was then that I realized I needed to share my talent and give families moments to remember their furry loves. If you, or you know someone who is in the process of dealing with the impending loss of their fur baby, please send them my way. While I don’t have a cure cancer, I do have a gift of capturing moments to treasure.
